Latino Agriculture Education for Viticulture Program (LAEP) – Level II Graduation

The Washington Winegrowers Association and Wenatchee Valley Community College proudly hosted a memorable evening celebrating the achievements of the 2025–2026 LAEP Level II Leadership Program graduates. Since its founding in 2006, the LAEP program—developed in partnership with Wenatchee Valley College—has remained a cornerstone initiative, investing in the growth and leadership of the vineyard work force. The program is led by Wenatchee Valley College faculty Francisco Sarmiento and Francisco Sarmiento Jr.

This year’s graduates were recognized for their exceptional commitment to advancing both their technical expertise and leadership capabilities. Through weeks of intensive study, participants deepened their knowledge of advanced viticulture practices while strengthening communication and management skills. Level II represents a significant milestone in the program, equipping graduates to take on greater responsibility and leadership roles within their organizations and communities—ultimately contributing to the continued strength of Washington’s wine industry.

The evening also highlighted the vital support systems behind each graduate’s success. Employers, families, and program instructors were all acknowledged for their encouragement, flexibility, and dedication. Their collective investment underscores the collaborative spirit that defines the LAEP program and the industry as a whole. The Association extends its congratulations to this outstanding group of graduates and looks forward to the lasting impact they will make in the vineyards and beyond.
