Larry Harris Appointed to Winegrowers Board

Larry and Kim Harris are the founders, owners, and winemakers at Bayernmoor Cellars in the Puget Sound AVA. In 2011, they began the transformation of their 100+ acre estate north of Seattle, planting six acres of Pinot Noir, started commercial production in 2017, and in 2021 opened their Woodinville Tasting Room. Bayernmoor Cellars was named 2024 Washington State Winery of the Year by Great Northwest Wine. Bayernmoor focuses on Pinot Noir, sourcing fruit from their estate vineyard and four other vineyards across Washington State. The winery also produces multiple other varietals ranging from Pinot Gris to Cabernet Sauvignon using contracted fruit from ten different vineyards spanning many of Washington's AVAs.

Prior to winemaking, Larry founded Athorus, PLLC, a patent law firm, and served as Associate General Counsel for Patents at Amazon.com, where he helped grow the company's patent portfolio from approximately 100 to over 18,000 patents. Larry holds an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, a J.D. from Santa Clara University, and dual B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics from Southern Methodist University. He has been an Eagle Scout since 1989.

Larry sought to serve on the Washington Winegrowers Association board to contribute his business and legal expertise to support industry growth and sustainability. As both a grower on the west-side of the mountains and a winery owner who sources fruit from multiple AVAs across eastern Washington, he brings a perspective that spans Washington's diverse wine regions and understands the importance of supporting growers and wineries statewide.
